welcome

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are excited to present a virtual edition of the 7th Singapore Rehabilitation Conference and Asian Prosthetics and Orthotics Scientific Meeting (#SRC-APOSM22) to be held from 8th to 9th October 2022. This event is organised by the Society of Rehabilitation Medicine (Singapore) (SRMS) and the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (Singapore). It is supported by the Chapter of Rehabilitation Physicians, College of Physicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore. You can enjoy both conferences for the price of one with our first ever collaboration.

There are two themes for #SRC-APOSM22.  The theme for SRC is “Charting New Grounds”. It has been a challenging time for all with the evolving COVID-19 situation. We have to constantly evolve and we have been able to rise to the occasion in many instances. Our specialty should not stand still but we will have to be on the move, breaking barriers and charting new grounds. The current pandemic serves as a catalyst but we should also seek to improve and serve our patients better in both good and bad times.

The APOSM event is the leading biannual event for the orthotic and prosthetic industry in Asia. The theme for #APOSM22 is “Mobility by design”. When designing products and services, it is important to challenge and stretch our thinking by actively engaging with end-users as many have different perspectives and abilities. This becomes an enabler to understand how best to design products that satisfy their needs and motivations. We are looking forward to showcasing some innovative designs and services from Asia and abroad to bring a positive change to the way we practice and our outcomes.

The organising committee supported by the scientific committee are working hard to present an interesting programme. Delegates will be provided with 2 days of exciting innovation and advanced techniques in the field of rehabilitation and its subspecialities. The programme includes international and national leaders in the field of rehabilitation medicine and innovation and prosthetics and orthotics.

We invite doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, biomedical engineers, healthcare designers and students in the relevant fields to come join us in this event.

See you all at the conference!

Yours sincerely,

Loh Yong Joo     Wee Tze Chao     Trevor Binedell
